Frequently asked questions

Downloading your Digital Signature Certificate and checking its status.

How do I download my DSC after it is approved?

Once approved you receive a download reference, plug in your USB token, run the Certifying Authority's download tool, enter the reference and set the token password. The certificate is then written onto the token and ready to use.

How can I check my DSC application status?

Track it with the application or order reference given at submission, usually on the Certifying Authority's status page. Status moves from submitted, to verification (video and OTP), to approved and ready for download.

What does 'DSC in process' mean?

It means your application has been submitted and is going through identity verification but has not yet been approved for download. It usually clears once the video and OTP checks are confirmed.

Can I download the same DSC again on another computer?

The certificate downloads once onto the hardware token; after that you use the token itself on any computer with the right drivers. You generally cannot re-download the key onto a second device, because it is locked inside the token.

My DSC is approved but will not download. What is wrong?

The usual causes are the token drivers not being installed, the token not being detected, a wrong token password, or the browser blocking the download tool. Installing the correct token driver and using the CA's download utility fixes most cases.
